Reviews Galore: 'Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku' Impresses

Jan 09,25

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, circumstances necessitate a change of course. But we're going out with a bang, featuring reviews, new release summaries, and sales information. Let's enjoy one last roundup!

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Following the success of Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, Imagineer's collaboration with Hatsune Miku is a surprisingly effective fitness game. Combining boxing and rhythm game mechanics, it offers daily workouts, mini-games, and Miku-themed song modes. Note: this title uses Joy-Cons only.

The game features difficulty options, free training, warm-ups, progress tracking, and unlockable cosmetics. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring.

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU is a solid fitness title, best enjoyed as a supplement to other routines rather than a standalone program. - Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

Magical Delicacy blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. While the exploration and pixel art are strong points, inventory management and UI could use improvement.

The game boasts customizable UI elements, making it well-suited for handheld play. Some frame rate inconsistencies were noted on Switch.

A promising title that could benefit from further refinement. Despite some flaws, Magical Delicacy offers a unique and enjoyable experience. - Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

This sequel to the classic platformer improves upon the original, offering a more polished experience. Ratalaika's updated emulation wrapper includes bonus features such as a gallery, jukebox, and cheats. The inclusion of only the SNES version is a minor drawback.

A solid release for fans of the series and 16-bit platformers. - Shaun Musgrave

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

This prequel to Metro Quester acts as an expansion, introducing a new dungeon, characters, and challenges within the same turn-based RPG framework. The new setting requires canoe travel through watery areas.

Fans of the original will find much to enjoy. New players should consider starting here. - Shaun Musgrave

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
