Dec 09,25

The Pokémon Company announces the Pokémon Fossil Museum's North American debut in May 2026.

Curious about this unique exhibition? As the name suggests, it showcases fabricated Pokémon "fossils" alongside real-world ancient specimens. Following its Japanese premiere, the traveling exhibition arrives at Chicago's Field Museum on May 22, 2026—marking its first international appearance.

"Visitors will encounter lifelike Pokémon models displayed beside authentic fossils from our collection," the museum explains. "Compare Field Museum treasures like SUE the T. rex and Chicago Archaeopteryx with Fossil Pokémon including Tyrantrum and Archeops. Trainers—how many similarities and differences can you identify?"
