Pokemon Leak May Reveal Surprising Plan for Generation 10 Games

Pokémon Generation 10: Dual Switch Release Possible?

Recent leaks suggest Pokémon Generation 10 games might launch on both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. While unconfirmed, this contradicts earlier assumptions that Generation 10 would bypass the original Switch due to performance issues experienced with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The leaks, originating from a Game Freak hacker and shared by Centro Leaks, indicate a primary development focus on the original Switch under the codename "Gaia." A secondary version, "Super Gaia," appears to be tailored for the Switch 2. Furthermore, a native Switch 2 release for Pokémon Legends: Z-A is also rumored.

The Switch 2's backward compatibility ensures that regardless of native releases, Switch 2 owners can play both Generation 10 and Legends: Z-A. However, the performance improvements on the Switch 2 for these titles remain uncertain.

Official Confirmation Pending

Crucially, no official announcements have been made. While a Pokémon Presents event is scheduled for February 27th, it's reportedly centered on games for the original Switch, not the Switch 2. If Generation 10 targets the original Switch, a dedicated Switch 2 main-series Pokémon game could be significantly further off. Treat all current information as speculative until official confirmation.
