Pokemon GO Unova Tour: Black and White Kyurem and Shiny Meloetta Debut!

Get ready, trainers! Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are finally arriving in Pokémon GO during the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova, along with a Shiny Meloetta! Learn how to catch and fuse these legendary Pokémon below.

Black and White Kyurem's Grand Entrance

Following the December 2024 announcement of the Unova Tour (February 2025), Niantic has revealed the exciting addition of Black Kyurem, White Kyurem, and Shiny Meloetta.

From February 21st to 23rd, 2025, attendees of the in-person events in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, USA, can capture and fuse Kyurem into its powerful Black and White forms. To begin, trainers must defeat Black or White Kyurem in five-star raids to obtain the base Kyurem.

Once you've caught Kyurem, the fusion process begins! Choose between Zekrom or Reshiram to fuse with Kyurem, unlocking unique attacks: Freeze Shock (Black Kyurem) and Ice Burn (White Kyurem). Here's the breakdown of fusion requirements:

• Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Zekrom Candy
• White Kyurem: 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy

Earn Fusion Energy by defeating Black or White Kyurem in raids. Reversion to Kyurem's base form is free, requiring no energy or candy. Plus, enjoy increased shiny rates for Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom during the event!

For those unable to attend the in-person events, the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova – Global event runs March 1st-2nd, 2025, and is free for all players!

Meloetta: The Melody Pokémon Arrives

Making its shiny debut in Pokémon GO is Meloetta! In-person event ticket holders can complete a Masterwork Research to encounter this musical Pokémon. Don't worry about time constraints; the Masterwork Research won't expire.

Iconic Legendaries from Pokémon Black and White 2

Kyurem, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Meloetta first appeared in Pokémon Black and White, the fifth generation of Pokémon games featuring the Unova region. The Tao Trio are acquired later in the main storyline, while Meloetta is a post-game reward.
