Plants vs. Zombies at 16: Discounts and Festivities

Dec 09,25

Plants vs. Zombies is celebrating its 16th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the game's creators are throwing a party straight from Neighborville. Sixteen years ago, a Peashooter fired its first pellet, officially starting the battle for the backyard.

Special Discounts for Plants vs. Zombies' Sweet 16 Celebration

To commemorate the 16th birthday, EA is offering special discounts. In the PvZ shop, Dave's Secret Stash is providing up to 33% off on various packs. You can also save up to 20% on Mini Games, a great bonus for anyone planting pea-shooters or munching on brains.

The developers are also sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the team who built the game and fans who have been defending their lawns since the beginning. These stories highlight the game's quirky characters and endless plant-themed puns.

Perhaps the best part of the Plants vs. Zombies Sweet 16 celebration is the new video they released. It's a tribute to the community that has enjoyed the game for over a decade, showing zombies disco dancing and teleporting.

Did You Know?

Plants vs. Zombies first launched on PC in 2009 by PopCap Games. It was quirky, humorous, and instantly addictive. The combination of smiling Sunflowers and zombies shuffling across lawns in traffic cones really resonated with players.

The game made its way to mobile devices in 2010, and by 2012, EA had acquired PopCap. In 2013, Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time was released, introducing new worlds and whimsical gameplay mechanics.

Meanwhile, Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia has been in development since 2020. After a soft launch, it was pulled back for revisions. The team says it will feature a fresh art style and return to the classic tower defense feel.
