People Can Fly, the renowned developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into a significant agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment. The deal involves the creation of a new game, codenamed Project Delta, which is set to be developed as a work-for-hire project. Although the specifics of Project Delta remain under wraps, this partnership marks an exciting new chapter for both companies.

People Can Fly is currently juggling an impressive portfolio of projects, each bearing a unique codename. Among these are Project Gemini, developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 developers laid off last year. Another project, Project Echo, is being crafted with Krafton, while Project Red appears to be another venture with Sony. Just yesterday, the studio announced that Project Bison would be its final foray into VR gaming.

Recent months have seen some shifts in the studio's focus. Last December, People Can Fly decided to suspend work on Project Victoria and scale down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, they announced the cancellation of Project Dagger, which was intended to be an action-adventure game developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains busy with a total of eight known projects in development. This includes the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, developed in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day has not yet been announced, Project Gemini, the game developed with Square Enix, is slated for release in 2026.
