Nintendo's interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, is set to reach a broader audience with its expanded release in March 2025, as shared by the company on their X (formerly Twitter) account.

In just a couple of months, Alarmo will be accessible to everyone, hitting the shelves of major retailers worldwide such as Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other Nintendo-affiliated stores.

This time, purchasing Alarmo won't require a Nintendo Online membership, making it available to a wider audience. The Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo will be priced at $99.99 USD.

While fans are thrilled about this development, the buzz around Nintendo's potential announcement of the Switch 2 continues to grow. However, Nintendo has remained silent on that front.

Nintendo Alarmo Sold Out A Day After its Announcement

Following its announcement on October 9, 2024, Alarmo quickly proved its popularity among Nintendo enthusiasts. In Japan, the demand was so high that Nintendo had to suspend sales on the My Nintendo Store and switch to a lottery system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, released on October 9th, and have had to suspend sales on the My Nintendo Store. We are preparing to transition to a lottery sale system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working to produce more units to meet customer demand."

In New York City, Alarmo sold out on the same day, though without a lottery system. Customers were informed that they would be updated once more stock became available.

Nintendo Alarmo Features

Launched in 2024, Alarmo is not just an alarm clock but a delightful piece of Nintendo's universe. It features sound effects from beloved games such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, and more. Users can select from 42 different scenes, with the promise of free updates including scenes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Once you set a scene, a game character will appear on Alarmo's screen, patiently waiting. When the alarm sounds, the character gently wakes you with a soothing sound. As the alarm continues, a visitor arrives, and you can wave your hand or move to quiet the clock. If you linger in bed, a more insistent visitor and louder sounds will encourage you to rise. The alarm stops once you get up, thanks to the motion sensor, without needing to touch the device.

Beyond its alarm function, Alarmo enhances your environment with hourly chimes and sleep sounds themed to your chosen scene. It also tracks your sleep patterns, monitoring your time in bed and movements during sleep.

For those sharing a bed with others or pets, Nintendo suggests using Alarmo in Button Mode. Initially, this mode required a Nintendo Online membership, but this requirement will be removed with the expanded release in March 2025.
