Nintendo Warns Switch 2 Users Against Removing Screen Film
As the Switch 2 prepares for launch this week, Nintendo has issued a critical reminder: the protective film on the console's screen shouldn't be removed by owners.
Nintendo shared vital health and safety guidelines for the Switch 2 in a downloadable PDF, featuring specific "Careful Usage" instructions (via NintendoSoup).
The guidance clearly states: "The anti-shatter film covering the screen prevents glass fragmentation if damaged. Never remove this protective layer."
This specially designed film acts as a crucial safety barrier - keeping potential glass fragments contained if the screen breaks. Peeling it off would compromise this protection.
When unboxing your Switch 2 this week, be mindful to leave this essential safety component intact.
Additional Nintendo recommendations include avoiding use in "dusty or smoky environments" - meaning no club outings or antique bookstore gaming sessions.
"Remember to charge the built-in batteries at least biannually," Nintendo advises. "Prolonged disuse may permanently disable charging capability." Hopefully your Mario Kart World addiction will keep this from being an issue.
