Nintendo Alarm Delayed in Japan Despite Global Launch

Dec 11,24

Due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock, Nintendo has postponed the general retail release of the Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. Initially slated for February 2025, the launch has been delayed indefinitely. This announcement, made via the official Nintendo Japan website, cites current production and inventory challenges as the reason for the postponement.

The impact on international availability remains unclear; a global launch is still planned for March 2025. However, for Japanese consumers, Nintendo has implemented a temporary pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. This pre-order window opens mid-December, with shipments expected in early February 2025. Specific pre-order dates will be announced shortly.

The Alarmo, a popular interactive alarm clock featuring music from beloved Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and Ring Fit Adventure (with more to be added via updates), initially launched in October 2024. Its immediate success overwhelmed Nintendo, resulting in the halting of online orders and a lottery system for remaining stock. Physical stock quickly sold out in Japanese and New York Nintendo stores.

Keep checking back for updates on pre-order details and the rescheduled general release date.
