Square Enix Announced NieR 15th Anniversary Special Novel

Square Enix marked NieR’s 15th Anniversary with a series of announcements during a livestream on April 19. Among the highlights was the introduction of an online special novel titled [U]ndecided Option. This novel will unfold over three updates, with the first already available and the subsequent ones scheduled for April 25 and May 2. The novel teases an intriguing narrative where a "servant" encounters a mysterious boy, setting the stage for an engaging story.

In addition to the novel, Square Enix launched a dedicated 15th Anniversary website, serving as the central hub for the online special novel and other anniversary-related projects and events.

Exhibition, Concerts, Merchandise, and More

Square Enix is set to host an exhibition at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Japan, showcasing new artwork featuring protagonists from NieR: Replicant, NieR: Automata, and NieR Re[in]carnation. Details on tickets and other specifics will be shared soon.

Music lovers can look forward to additional performances of the NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024 in Osaka on July 25 and 26, and in Tokyo on August 2 and 3. Tickets are currently available via lottery, and more information can be found on the concert's official website.

Starting April 28, NieR Re[in]carnation, the first mobile title in the NieR series, will launch a developer blog series. Monthly updates throughout the year will offer insights into the game's creation process. Released in January 2021 and shut down in April 2024 due to monetization issues, the game's developer blog has sparked speculation about a possible sequel or remake, though no official announcements have been made.
