A Coastal Conflict on the Continent

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryNetflix Tudum, the official Netflix news source, announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, debuting February 11, 2025. This animated film adapts Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.

The story unfolds in a coastal village, where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk has prompted a kingdom to enlist the services of a Witcher. Instead of the usual monsters, Geralt faces a unique challenge – battling merpeople.

Dogue Cockle returns as the voice of Geralt. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski acts as a creative consultant. The screenplay is by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, writers for the live-action series. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs the film.

A Story Within Season 1 of the Live-Action Series

Netflix's Witcher Animated Movie Coming FebruaryThe film's timeline fits between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's reunion in Rinde after the Djinn incident, Geralt is hired to address a monstrous threat near the coast.

The location is likely somewhere between Redania and Temeria. Considering the source material, Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval, is a strong possibility. However, the film's adherence to the short story remains to be seen.
