The streaming giant has enlisted the talents of T.S. Nowlin, celebrated for his contributions to the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, who was previously involved in adapting Sifu's narrative, might still have a role, his current involvement remains uncertain.

The project's allure is further enhanced by the addition of Chad Stahelski, the visionary behind the John Wick franchise, along with his production company, 87Eleven Entertainment, who will serve as executive producers. Stahelski's involvement is particularly noteworthy as he is simultaneously working on another eagerly anticipated video game adaptation, Ghost of Tsushima.

Sifu, launched in 2022, quickly captured the gaming community's attention, achieving over one million sales within just three weeks of its release. The game's narrative follows a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance after the murder of their master. Empowered by a mystical pendant that revives them upon death but ages them significantly with each revival, the protagonist navigates a perilous path filled with danger and intrigue.
