In today's saturated gaming market, finding a truly unique title can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its compelling narrative and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian horror. This puzzle adventure game boasts a fascinating backstory.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Journey

The game's creation story is captivating. Developer Ahmed Alameen, initially a writer and filmmaker, wasn't initially aiming for game development. A 2020 collaboration with a college friend fell through, yet the core story idea persisted. Alameen, driven by his vision, independently learned 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, ultimately realizing his ambition. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.

Unraveling the Mystery: The Game's Narrative

My Father Lied plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian mythology. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

Drawing inspiration from 7000 years of Mesopotamian history, the game seamlessly blends ancient lore with modern storytelling. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, avoiding complex controls, and showcases beautiful 2D visuals and immersive 360-degree images.
