How To Get Multiple Pets in Stardew Valley

Unlocking Multiple Pets in Stardew Valley
Initially, you can adopt one pet (cat or dog). The 1.6 update allows for multiple pets, but first, you must max out your existing pet's friendship. Daily tasks include:
- Water: Fill your pet's bowl daily (except on rainy/snowy days).
- Petting: Interact with your pet once a day (a heart bubble indicates success).
Check your pet's friendship level in the "Animals" menu (pause menu). Once maxed, Marnie will email you, enabling you to adopt additional pets (or if you skipped the initial pet, she'll contact you at the start of Year 2).
Adopting Multiple Pets in Stardew Valley
After receiving Marnie's email, visit her ranch (9 AM - 4 PM, closed Mondays and Tuesdays). Select the "Adopt Pets" option. Choose from twelve pet licenses:

Obtaining Pet Supplies in Stardew Valley
Before or after adopting, commission Pet Bowls from Robin (5,000g and 25 Hardwood each). These are essential for maintaining pet friendship and preventing them from running away.
Marnie sells optional decorative items like doghouses and cat trees (no friendship bonus).
