Monster Hunter Wilds director Yuya Tokuda has shared exciting details about the upcoming May 28 Ver. 1.011 update, promising "an abundance of new features and changes to the game," including a thrilling collaboration with Street Fighter 6.

In his latest Director's Letter, Tokuda emphasized the team's commitment to delivering more engaging content and refining the gameplay experience. One highlight of the update is the introduction of Street Fighter's Akuma as a new challenger. Players can look forward to obtaining a full Arkuma armor set and layered armor. Equipping either set will add three special items to your item bar: Assisted Combo Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken. For more details on these items, visit the official Monster Hunter website.

The Ver. 1.011 update also introduces eight-star "challenging" monsters, available to hunt at HR 41 and above. This includes Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad, offering players new high-level hunting options alongside the existing seven-star tempered monsters like Arkveld. These eight-star versions will feature increased health, wound resistance, and adjustments to multiplayer scaling. Tokuda specifically highlighted Tempered Gore Magala as a "particularly tough challenge" for even seasoned hunters. Expect more high-difficulty quests and multi-monster encounters as your HR progresses.

PlayAdditionally, "player-centric balance adjustments" are slated for both Ver. 1.011 and Title Update 2, affecting weapons like the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun. Tokuda noted that while some weapon parameters have been adjusted downward, others have been enhanced, broadening the possibilities for all weapon types. He encouraged players to experiment with these changes once the update is live. The Hammer and Dual Blades are also receiving further improvements.

Quality of life enhancements include the ability to rest in the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord, which restores all destroyed Pop-up Camps. A new feature allows items to automatically transfer to your item box when your pouch is full, eliminating the need for a confirmation window. The visibility of meal effect timers has been improved, showing a countdown 10 minutes before expiration. Notifications have been adjusted to reduce frequency and only show higher-priority targets in the environment overview, without blocking map access.

Tokuda also reminded players about the feature to view individual captured endemic life in the Windward Plains through Ecological Research. This includes details like names, sizes, and weights of caught fish, with the option to favorite creatures to keep them even if storage is full. Each creature can have unique patterns, encouraging players to use this feature to preserve their favorites.

Stability improvements are on the way, particularly for Steam users. With the introduction of eight-star monsters, rewards for eight-star investigations and field surveys have been boosted. Additionally, Guild Point rewards for fishing have been rebalanced, though specifics remain undisclosed.
