Niantic’s latest update for Monster Hunter Now brings a fresh feature called Exploration Bases. Season 7 introduces this PokéStop-inspired system, designed to reflect the game’s strong sense of community.

Hunters can now collaborate to enhance local bases by submitting exploration emblems and reports. The more players participate, the more powerful the base becomes—and everyone benefits from the upgrades.

How do Exploration Bases function in Monster Hunter Now?

Each base operates on a three-week cycle called a Wave. When a Wave ends, players earn rewards such as +500 Item Box Expansion and up to 2,000 base reputation points. Leaderboards display collective progress.

Exploration Bases prioritize teamwork over raw strength. Newer players and those without fully upgraded gear can still play a vital role. According to the developers, these bases aim to enrich the hunter experience beyond just hunting monsters.

The first Wave begins on September 18th, 2025, and runs through October 13th, 2025. The featured monster for this Wave is the 8-star Riftborne Deviljho. Just a few days later, on September 22nd, Riftborne Deviljho becomes permanently available in the game.

The game is also marking its 2nd Anniversary!

Monster Hunter Now’s 2nd Anniversary celebration runs from September 14th to September 28th, 2025. Participate in the event by hunting monsters, defeating or repelling Elder Dragons, and completing special quests to earn 2nd Anniversary Exchange Tokens. See the event highlights below.
