Avex Pictures has exciting news for fans of the captivating world of Made in Abyss. The franchise, which has previously explored the depths through manga, anime, and a 3D action RPG, is now set to embark on a new adventure with its first-ever mobile game titled "Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey." Announced alongside the launch of the game's official X account, fans can expect to receive updates as the release date approaches.

Although details about the gameplay are scarce at this point, it's confirmed that this will be a casual mobile title. The game is slated for release on Android and iOS platforms, but initially, it will be available only in Japan. There has been no mention yet of a global rollout, leaving international fans eagerly awaiting further announcements.

For those new to the series, Made in Abyss began as a manga in 2012, penned by Akihito Tsukushi and serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story revolves around Riko, a young orphan from the town of Orth, which borders a vast vertical chasm known as the Abyss. This mysterious pit is teeming with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and an enigma that has claimed countless explorers.

Riko's dream is to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished within the Abyss. On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a half-robot boy with no recollection of his origins. Together, they plunge into the depths of the Abyss, fully aware that their quest might be one-way.

The manga's popularity led to its adaptation into an anime in 2017, followed by a sequel film, "Dawn of the Deep Soul," released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Chime Corporation released a console and PC RPG titled "Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness," further expanding the universe.
