Medabot Survivors: Bullet-Hell Action for Medabots Fans, But Only in Japan (For Now)
Medabot Survivors, a new bullet-hell action game based on the popular robot role-playing series, has launched in Japan for iOS and Android devices on February 10th. For those unfamiliar, Medabots enjoyed a surge in popularity following Pokémon's success, though it never achieved the same global recognition in the West. However, in Japan, Medabots remains a significant franchise.
This latest entry, as reported by Gematsu, sees the series enter the popular "Survivors"-style genre. While games like this have existed for much longer than the breakout hit Vampire Survivors, Medabot Survivors' release highlights the genre's growing global appeal.
Unfortunately, the game's current Japan-only release is a disappointment for international fans. Many excellent Japanese games remain unavailable outside of the country, and Medabot Survivors is another example. However, its success in Japan could potentially lead to a future Western release.
