Marvel Snap in the US is blocked due to Tik-Tok restrictions

Marvel Snap, developed by California-based Second Dinner and published by ByteDance's Nuverse, faced an unexpected ban in certain regions, resulting in its removal from iOS and Android app stores on January 18, 2025. This ban also affected other ByteDance apps, including CapCut and Lemon8, but notably spared some, such as Ragnarok X: 3rd Anniversary and Earth: Revival - Deep Underground.

The ban caught players off guard, leaving many frustrated by the lack of prior warning and the inability to access their in-game purchases. While the situation caused widespread complaints regarding authorization issues, the game remains accessible on Steam for PC users.

Second Dinner has publicly addressed the situation, assuring players via an official Platform X statement that "Marvel Snap is here to stay" and that they are actively working to restore the game's availability on mobile platforms as swiftly as possible.

Despite the setback, discussion continues around recent game additions, such as the powerful Ongoing card, Moonstone. Moonstone's unique ability to copy the Ongoing effects of lower-cost cards makes her a significant addition to the meta, potentially altering gameplay strategies due to her ability to quickly accumulate high power. This is especially relevant given the existing number of low-cost Ongoing cards already present in the game.
