Marvel Rivals Bans Console Players Using Keyboard and Mouse

In a recent announcement from NetEase Games, it was revealed that players utilizing keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while engaging in Marvel Rivals will face account blocks. The company views this practice as a breach of terms, as these adapters provide an unfair edge by enhancing control sensitivity and retaining aiming assistance.

Adapters such as the XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper enable the emulation of mouse and keyboard functions via gamepads, offering a distinct advantage, particularly in competitive modes with auto-targeting enabled.

NetEase elaborated on their stance, stating: “We consider adapters as tools or software that mimic gamepad controls through a keyboard and mouse, disrupting the game's balance, especially in competitive scenarios.”

To combat this, the company has integrated advanced detection systems capable of identifying adapter usage with precision. Upon detection, affected accounts are immediately suspended.

Previously, it was noted that higher FPS in Marvel Rivals correlates with increased ping. While this may not be apparent with lower baseline pings, a sudden rise to 150ms can hinder gameplay significantly if the usual ping is around 90ms. This issue appears linked to frame rates as well.

Gamers are advised to await a patch and explore the optimal FPS-to-ping ratio. For now, maintaining an FPS of approximately 90 is recommended—a strategy that may seem unconventional for players familiar with titles like Counter-Strike 2, yet remains pertinent for Marvel Rivals.
