Longvinter, after a three-year journey through early access on Steam, has officially launched version 1.0! This release incorporates extensive player feedback and bug fixes, delivering a revitalized experience for both veteran and new players.

This major update introduces a significant gameplay element: oil rigs scattered throughout the archipelago. Players can now extract oil, process it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against LRI mercenaries guarding these vital supply lines. New dynamic events further enhance gameplay, including helicopter crashes offering tactical gear and an hourly underground arena where players can compete for valuable prizes.

The game world is now more immersive with the addition of diverse wildlife, such as lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats – all tamable and rideable! A plethora of new items are available, including performance-enhancing hats, tactical vests, advanced weaponry, explosives, new culinary recipes, and interactive building/decorating elements like oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Weapon balancing has also undergone substantial adjustments.

Future plans include the 1.1 update, which will introduce farming, an improved tutorial, apartment rentals, and shared community features. Furthermore, Longvinter's console debut on PlayStation is confirmed for 2026, expanding the game's reach to a wider audience.
