Mitsuhiro Arita, famed for his iconic artwork on countless Pokémon Trading Card Game cards, including the coveted Charizard, is now crafting a new breed of dragon for a Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair release. Here’s an exclusive preview of all four cards in this collection.

Arita is no stranger to Magic, having previously illustrated a single, borderless Lumra, Bellow of the Woods for the 2024 Bloomburrow set. The arrival of four new cards so soon after marks a significant expansion of his contributions.

These cards are also highly playable across various formats. The legendary Lightning Bolt is a staple wherever it’s legal, while Murktide Regent has dominated Modern and Legacy since its 2021 debut in Modern Horizons 2. Light-Paws is a beloved Commander, and Shorikai ranks as the 20th most popular Commander on EDHRec, thriving in Vintage Cubes as well.

Like other Secret Lair drops, this set will be available on the Secret Lair website starting Monday, February 10 at 9am PT, priced at $29.99 for non-foil and $39.99 for foil, while supplies last. With Secret Lairs often selling out quickly since Wizards of the Coast shifted from print-to-order last year—a change that has frustrated some fans—prompt action is advised to secure a set.
