Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Footage Appears Online

Apr 19,25

It appears that some early gameplay footage of EA's upcoming Battlefield game has leaked online, following closed playtesting. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz seems to have streamed footage from EA's closed Battlefield Labs playtest, which allowed a select group of players to experience early versions of the game and provide feedback to help developers refine it. Although no clips are available on anto_merguezz's Twitch page, someone recorded the footage from the stream, and it has been shared across the internet, with a significant presence on Reddit.

The leaked footage confirms the "modern" setting that Vince Zampella had previously hinted at, setting it apart from other Battlefield titles with historical or futuristic themes. The clips offer a glimpse into intense firefights and showcase the game's signature destructible environments. Fans are showing signs of approval, which is encouraging news following the lukewarm reception to Battlefield 2042 at its launch.

We already had some insights into what to expect from the next Battlefield game after its initial official reveal last month. Notably, it's set to include the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, which has been a welcome announcement for players who were disappointed by its absence in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.

EA is currently targeting a fiscal 2026 release for its next Battlefield title, which translates to a launch window between April 2025 and March 2026. As EA prepares for the game's rollout, we can anticipate more official reveals in the coming months. Given the leaks, it's likely that EA will accelerate their official showcase of Battlefield 6 (or whatever the final name turns out to be).

IGN has reached out to EA for comment on this matter.
