Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the eagerly anticipated Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. This exciting news was officially announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. After months of speculation and rumors about the potential reunion of the Netflix Defenders within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), fans finally have confirmation that Jessica Jones will indeed be making her MCU debut.

During the event, Ritter shared the stage with her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star, Charlie Cox, to express her enthusiasm about returning to the iconic role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter remarked. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought the gritty, New York-based Marvel hero to life in Jessica Jones Season 1, which debuted on Netflix in 2015. The series continued for two more seasons and was followed by the team-up series The Defenders. However, as Netflix's era of original Marvel programming came to an end, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter reprise her role.

The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. This paved the way for Charlie Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own series, Daredevil: Born Again. With the Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, it's fitting that Ritter will now return for Season 2.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more to come for the character in the MCU, but for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet announced a specific release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that viewers can expect new episodes in March 2026.
