Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Out Now - Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops, and More

Apr 26,25

Warhorse Studios has just unveiled a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, version 1.2, which brings exciting new features to the game. This patch introduces native mod support via Steam Workshop and a novel barber shop system, enhancing player customization and immersion.

The integration of Steam Workshop streamlines modding by allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. This feature's effectiveness, however, hinges on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. Currently, a select few mods are available, including:

  • Free Saving: This mod provides unlimited saves by continuously replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique, horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, enabling access to restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a visually striking zebra.

Although the mod selection is currently modest, the vibrant modding community is poised to grow. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to share their work across both platforms. While Steam Workshop might not match Nexus Mods in scale, it's anticipated that popular mods will soon be available there.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard, adding a personal touch to their character. Visiting a barber also temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat, enhancing social interactions.

Update 1.2 extends well beyond these new features, with Warhorse Studios reporting over a thousand fixes and improvements across the game. The extensive changelog, available on the official website, covers a wide range of enhancements, including:

  • Balancing adjustments to refine gameplay.
  • Improved animations for more fluid movement.
  • Better NPC behavior for more realistic interactions.
  • Fine-tuned crime system for greater accuracy.

Other significant updates include revised daily NPC schedules for increased realism, enhanced horse riding and trading mechanics, and improved character visuals and performance, especially in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios will provide an in-depth look at these changes during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. The studio's commitment to the game's growth is further evidenced by plans for three paid DLC expansions set for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the integration of Steam Workshop, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay enhancements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an increasingly immersive medieval experience.
