'Jurassic World: Rebirth' Includes Missing Scene from Crichton's Novel

Feb 12,25

Jurassic World Dominion incorporates a previously unused scene from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel, screenwriter David Koepp has confirmed. In an interview with Variety, Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the 1993 film and returned for Dominion, explained that revisiting Crichton's work provided inspiration for the sequel, lacking its own source material. He revealed the inclusion of a sequence from the novel that was deemed unsuitable for the original film due to time constraints.

"There was a sequence from the first novel that we'd always wanted in the original movie, but didn't have room for," Koepp stated. "We were like, 'Hey, we get to use that now.'"

While Koepp remained tight-lipped about the specific scene, fan speculation has run rampant. Several scenes from the novel are considered prime candidates.

Warning! Spoilers for the original Jurassic Park novel and potentially Jurassic World Dominion may follow.
