Jurassic World Rebirth Trailer Showcases New Dinos

NBC Universal has just unveiled the final trailer for *Jurassic World: Rebirth*, showcasing pivotal moments from the film and offering a detailed look at both returning and brand-new dinosaurs.

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, *Jurassic World: Rebirth* follows an extraction team as they venture to the most perilous location on Earth: an island research facility from the original Jurassic Park, now overrun by the most dangerous creatures left behind. Directed by Gareth Edwards (*Rogue One: A Star Wars Story*), the film features a screenplay by David Koepp, the original *Jurassic Park* screenwriter.

Here is the official synopsis:

Five years after the events of *Jurassic World: Dominion*, Earth's ecology has proven largely hostile to dinosaurs. The surviving creatures now inhabit isolated equatorial zones with climates similar to their ancient habitats. Within this tropical biosphere, three of the most colossal dinosaurs on land, in the sea, and in the sky carry DNA that is the key to a revolutionary, life-saving drug for humanity.
Academy Award nominee Scarlett Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a highly skilled covert operations expert hired to lead a top-secret mission to obtain this genetic material. When Zora's mission collides with a civilian family whose boating trip is disrupted by predatory aquatic dinosaurs, the entire group becomes stranded on a forbidden island that once housed a clandestine Jurassic Park research facility. There, in a landscape teeming with diverse dinosaur species, they uncover a sinister, decades-old secret hidden from the world.

So, what does this final trailer reveal? Key scenes include the thrilling river raft sequence from Michael Crichton's original *Jurassic Park* novel. In January, screenwriter David Koepp mentioned revisiting Crichton's books for inspiration, as this sequel lacks a direct source novel. "There was a sequence from the first novel we always wanted to include in the original film but simply didn't have the time for," Koepp explained. "Now, we finally get to use it."

Can a T-Rex swim? This trailer confirms that it can.

The trailer also introduces several new dinosaurs, including a detailed look at the ‘D-Rex,’ officially known as the Distortus Rex. This new hybrid dinosaur, created specifically for *Rebirth*, blends characteristics of a T-Rex with the formidable presence of a Star Wars Rancor. Director Gareth Edwards described it as, "Imagine a T-Rex designed by H.R. Giger, then combined with a Rancor."

This is the Distortus Rex, or D-Rex. Do you get Rancor vibes?

The preview also features the winged Mutadons, which Koepp describes as "a hybrid of a pterosaur and a Velociraptor."

Every Jurassic Park film needs a terrifying raptor scene. This time, it's the Mutadons' turn.
