Gunn addressed concerns directly via Threads, responding "yes" when questioned about the false rumors. When another fan explicitly asked whether Waller was still moving forward, Gunn reaffirmed with another concise confirmation.

This definitive update comes after Gunn's previous acknowledgement of development challenges. "The project faced some setbacks," he admitted during February's DC Studios presentation alongside co-CEO Peter Safran.

While specifics remain scarce since its January 2023 announcement, the series serves as a Peacemaker spinoff exploring the consequences of Task Force X's exposure. The 2023 industry strikes necessitated significant rewrites to align with the revised DCU timeline, causing substantial delays.
