Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Feb 28,25

In Avowed, upgrading your weaponry is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature Common (Level I) weapons and enemies. However, as the difficulty increases to Level II, you'll need Fine (Tier II) equipment. This guide details obtaining Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II)

While some Fine Quality items are found or purchased directly, others require upgrading. Avowed gear uses a two-part system: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and upgrade levels (+1 to +3). Common (I) gear is green, Fine (II) is blue.

To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), utilize workbenches located at Party Camps. Each +1 to +3 upgrade requires specific materials. After reaching +3, use Adra (a rare crystal obtained from quests, merchants, or dismantling Unique items) for the final upgrade to Fine (II).

Upgrading consumes resources. Alternatively, Fine (II) gear occasionally spawns in Dawnshore early in the game and drops from Level II enemies, particularly Bounties. However, Common gear is less effective against Level II foes, so carry ample health potions.

Paradis merchants also sell Fine (II) gear. Access to Paradis is granted after a key early Main Quest boss fight. Twin sisters operate nearby stalls; one (Merlylin) sells magical items, while the other offers standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This concludes your guide to acquiring Fine weapons and armor in Avowed.
