Mastering Mounts in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: A Guide to Acquiring Your Steed

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's vast open world can feel daunting initially. Efficient traversal requires a trusty steed, and this guide outlines two methods for obtaining a horse.

Reuniting with Pebbles: Reclaiming Your Original Horse

You can recover your starting horse, Pebbles! Travel to Semine in the southern region and locate the horse trader. However, securing Pebbles isn't straightforward. You'll need to either pay Groschen, or employ persuasion or intimidation.

My experience involved progressing through the main questline, aligning with Radovan the blacksmith. This allowed me to acquire new attire, enhancing my noble appearance and enabling me to convince the trader to relinquish Pebbles without payment, although it slightly impacted my reputation in Semine. If persuasion fails, prepare to pay the necessary Groschen.

The Art of Horse Theft: A Risky Alternative

Alternatively, you can acquire a horse through less conventional means – theft. Wild horses are rare; your best bet is targeting farms or stables. This carries the risk of being apprehended by the owners.

A suggested location is Vidlak Pond in the west. A fisherman's farmhouse there possesses two horses, readily available for the taking.

Once you've secured a horse, consider visiting the Nomads' Camp east of Vidlak Pond. The horse trainer there can teach you how to saddle and tame your newly acquired mount, though this will require a fee. Alternatively, you can ride the horse untamed.
