A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.

This news comes as Honkai: Star Rail's 3.0 update approaches, introducing new gameplay features and characters. The game currently boasts 23 4-star characters, with varying meta relevance. While some, like Moze and Gallagher, have gained popularity, many 4-stars require significant Eidolon investment to reach their full potential. Past updates offered free character selectors to address this, and this leak indicates a similar event for Version 3.1.

The leaked selector features characters from the game's 1.0 cycle, including the readily available Asta. This aligns with earlier rumors suggesting a focus on 5-star character releases in the near future, potentially indicating a slowdown in 4-star additions. The current roster disparity is significant, with nearly 40 5-star characters compared to 23 4-stars. Further adding to this imbalance, eight more 5-star characters are anticipated with Amphoreus, along with two potential additions from the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night crossover.
