Here's Your First Look at Over a Dozen New Cards From Magic: The Gathering's Upcoming Final Fantasy Set
For Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the release of the Final Fantasy set, June might seem like a distant dream. However, Wizards of the Coast has recently provided a tantalizing glimpse into the future by unveiling over a dozen brand-new cards from the upcoming set. Fans can now feast their eyes on iconic characters such as Sephiroth, Yuffie, Cecil, Garland, Chaos, and many more. This sneak peek not only showcases a variety of new cards but also introduces several art variations, complementing the previously revealed commander cards: Tidus, Cloud, Y'shtola, and Terra.
Among the new reveals are powerful legendary figures like Sephiroth and Cecil, alongside a fresh take on the Food token art. Art variations also grace cards such as Stilzkin, Moogle Merchant; Sin, Spira's Punishment; and the intriguing Summon: Shiva. You can explore the full gallery below:

Today's reveal also highlights some unique features of the set. Players can look forward to Summons, which are part of Magic's innovative Saga creatures that can be called upon for assistance during battles, exemplified by Summon: Shiva. Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, with Cecil's transformation from Dark Knight to Redeemed Paladin serving as a prime example.
The Final Fantasy set promises an impressive lineup, featuring over 100 legendary creature cards, including 55 legendary borderless cards illustrated by beloved artists from the Final Fantasy series. This set is not only fully draftable but also Standard-legal, set to launch on June 13. Alongside the main set, four preconstructed Commander decks will be released, each themed around a different Final Fantasy game: 6, 7, 10, and 14. These decks will contain 100 cards each, blending new Final Fantasy cards with reimagined existing cards featuring fresh Final Fantasy artwork.
