Hearthstone Reveals StarCraft Mini-Set Details and Release Date

Mar 05,25

Hearthstone's upcoming Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching January 21st, boasts a record-breaking 49 new cards. This expansion, the largest Mini-Set to date, introduces class and multi-class cards themed around StarCraft factions: Zerg (for Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock), Protoss (for Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue), and Terran (for Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior). The set also includes a single neutral Legendary card.

Initially teased during the November 13th, 2024 Warcraft Direct, the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set bridges the gap between Hearthstone and Blizzard's StarCraft universe. The full set is priced at $20 or 2500 gold, a slight increase from previous Mini-Sets. Alternatively, players can purchase individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) for $10 or 1200 gold each. An all-Golden version is also available for $80 or 12,000 gold.

Gameplay mechanics showcased include Zerg's focus on summoning Zerglings and utilizing Hydralisks, Protoss's mana manipulation for powerful card plays, and Terran's Starship mechanic integration.

To celebrate the launch, Blizzard is hosting two streamed events: StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST) featuring StarCraft personalities TrumpSC and Day9, and HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST) showcasing Hearthstone community creators. Viewers can earn four packs (two standard, two Golden Great Dark Beyond packs) by watching these Twitch streams.
