Latest Halo 5 Rumors Debunked
Lenovo has put an end to the swirling rumors about a PC port of Halo 5: Guardians. A promotional image for the Lenovo Legion Go S suggested that the game might be coming to Steam, but Lenovo clarified that the image was merely a mockup design, not a confirmation of an upcoming release. This clarification came directly from Lenovo's senior community manager, Ben Green, who succinctly dismissed the speculation with a "No lol" when asked if it was a leak for the Xbox Developer Direct event. Despite the image still being available on Lenovo's site, Green mentioned that it had been forwarded to their design team for review.
Halo 5: Guardians stands out as the only mainline Halo game yet to be released on PC, following the successful launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on the platform. This absence is particularly notable for PC gamers eager to experience the full Halo saga without an Xbox One. Interestingly, a PC version of the Halo 5: Guardians Forge editor was released in 2016, but the complete game has not followed suit. Over the years, numerous rumors have circulated, but none have materialized into a PC release.
Halo 5 PC Rumors Debunked by Lenovo
While the recent Lenovo incident does not confirm a PC port for Halo 5: Guardians, it doesn't completely dash hopes either. Microsoft's increased focus on PC gaming in recent years suggests that there might still be a chance for the game to make its way to the platform. However, as of now, there is no solid evidence to support an imminent release.
The Halo franchise is currently navigating an intriguing phase. Halo Studios, previously known as 343 Industries, is actively updating Halo Infinite with fresh content, yet the community is increasingly vocal about their desire for new entries in the series. Looking ahead to 2025, rumors are circulating about a potential remake of Halo: Combat Evolved and the possibility of The Master Chief Collection making its way to PlayStation. If these rumors hold true, it would mark a significant shift in the franchise's direction.
