Hades 2 Marks One Year in Early Access

Approaching the Full Release

Developer Supergiant Games recently commemorated a year of Hades 2 in early access, which began on May 6, 2024. In a social media post, the team thanked players for their ongoing support and confirmed development is nearing completion.

The studio stated, "It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!"

Like its predecessor, Hades 2 is following an early access model. The original Hades spent 22 months in early access before its full release, but Supergiant appears to be targeting a quicker turnaround for the sequel. Its launch is expected to begin as a timed exclusive for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Timed Exclusive Launch on Nintendo Switch 2

During Nintendo's Creator's Voice series, Supergiant confirmed Hades 2 will debut first on the Nintendo Switch 2. With the new console launching on June 5, it's likely the game will release around the same timeframe.

The sequel builds upon the critically acclaimed roguelike formula of the first game. The developers noted this is their first venture into making a sequel, an undertaking they approached with "a great deal of fear and respect."
