The 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' hidden trophy/achievement stands out due to its simplicity yet elusive nature. Without prior knowledge, this achievement might slip right past you unnoticed.

To unlock it, you must capture a unique endemic life in the **Windward Plains** known as the **Sandstar**. This creature, resembling a small desert mouse with a long tail and shimmering fur, can only be found at night in a specific part of the region.

Since the Windward Plains are typically explored during the day as part of the game's storyline, you'll need to manipulate time to reach nightfall. You can do this in two ways:

  • **Fast Travel** – This method is available early in the game once you unlock different fast travel points in the Windward Plains. Use your interactive map to access the fast travel menu and travel between points until nightfall arrives.
  • **Rest** – After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, you can rest at a base or pop-up camp. Use your Guild Points to rest and select the time of day (Morning, Daytime, Evening, or Nighttime) along with environmental conditions (No Change, Fallow, Plenty, or Inclemency).

The Sandstar is not only diminutive but also incredibly swift, outpacing even your Seikret at full sprint. Before embarking on your pursuit, it's wise to gather **Screamer Pods**, a type of slinger ammo.

You can collect Screamer Pods from **Baunos**, small winged monsters with red bodies found in the Windward Plains. These creatures roam in groups around **Area 11** and **Area 13**, scavenging for carcasses. Defeating them will yield the pods you need, although they're not mandatory, they'll significantly ease your task.

Once it's night in the Windward Plains, head to the midpoint between Area 11 and Area 13. Keep your eyes peeled for the Sandstar. Upon spotting it, chase it at full speed and ready your Screamer Pods. When you're close enough, **shoot a Screamer Pod at the Sandstar to stun it**.

Immediately after stunning it, switch to your **Capture Net** (used also for fishing) and throw it at the Sandstar to capture it. Successfully doing so will unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement and reward you with the **Ribbon Dream: Amber** nameplate for your Hunter Profile.
