The Gothic 1 Remake demo has been released on Steam
To celebrate the release of the "Nyras Prologue" demo for the Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled an exciting trailer that showcases the game's new features. In a departure from the original Gothic, where players embodied the Nameless Hero, the remake introduces us to Nyras, a prisoner navigating the same perilous world with the same ultimate goal of survival.
The demo for the Gothic Remake was strategically launched during the Steam Next Fest event, quickly achieving the highest concurrent player count ever recorded for the series:

The demo provides a glimpse into the remake's enhanced graphics, refined animations, and a revamped combat system, all powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the prologue offers a taste of what's to come, it only hints at the expansive freedom and deep RPG mechanics that players will explore in the complete version of the game.
The Gothic Remake is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (available on Steam and GOG), though an official release date has yet to be disclosed.
