Get ready for an epic clash! Marvel Comics is releasing a series of one-shot crossover specials pitting Godzilla against some of its most iconic heroes. IGN exclusively reveals the third installment: Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1.

Following Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, this issue throws Spider-Man into a retro showdown against the King of the Monsters. The story unfolds after the events of 1984's Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, shortly after Peter Parker's return from Battleworld and his initial experiences with the symbiote suit. He'll need all his newfound abilities to protect his city from Godzilla's devastating rampage.

Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 is written by Joe Kelly (the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch), illustrated by Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), and features cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.

Kelly shared his excitement, stating, "The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I jumped at the chance! This book lets us unleash the craziness of two legendary characters, capturing the chaotic energy of my Spider-Man collecting days. Nick Bradshaw perfectly embodies the absurdity while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his awesome black suit!) the respect they deserve. It's a love letter with an earth-shattering roar!"

This isn't the first superhero vs. Godzilla crossover; DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (with a sequel in development) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, focuses on the classic Toho Godzilla. This announcement follows the reveal of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology benefiting wildfire relief efforts.
