Santa Monica Studio has rolled out the much-anticipated version 06.02 patch notes for God of War Ragnarök, celebrating the iconic franchise's 20th anniversary with the introduction of the Dark Odyssey Collection. This update is a treasure trove for fans, offering a plethora of new content at no additional cost.

The Dark Odyssey Collection brings a striking array of Norse-themed cosmetics to the game, including revamped looks for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya. Kratos gets a stylish Dark Odyssey Armor Set, featuring the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Bracers, and Belt, along with a unique Kratos appearance. Atreus and Freya aren't left out, with the Dark Odyssey Vestment and Witch Frock respectively. Additionally, all of Kratos’ godly weapons—the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Draupnir Spear—receive new Dark Odyssey appearances and attachments. The update also introduces six new shield appearances, including the Dark Odyssey Guardian Shield, Dauntless Shield, Stone Wall Shield, Shatter Start Shield, Onslaught Shield, and Spartan Aspis Shield, each with their own Rönd.

A standout feature of this update is the new "Edit Appearance" option, allowing players to customize their favorite looks without compromising the abilities and skills of their chosen armor. This means you can tailor Kratos' appearance to your liking while maintaining the functionality of your preferred gear. Whether you're diving into the game for the first time or revisiting the epic battles against Thor and Odin, this update enhances the experience across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms.

While the Dark Odyssey Collection has thrilled many fans, some were hoping for more substantial celebrations, such as modern remasters of the original God of War trilogy. Although no such plans have been announced, Santa Monica Studio continues to engage the community with additional bonuses like new merchandise and vinyl releases, ensuring that the God of War legacy remains vibrant and exciting.

Inspired by the working name of God of War (2005) and the skin that originally appeared in God of War II as a reward for beating the game on God Mode difficulty, we have brought back the black and gold theme for the anniversary.
