Sony has announced the global launch schedule for the PlayStation 5 exclusive, Ghost of Yotei.

According to Sucker Punch’s sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, the official release is set for October 2. However, Sony confirmed to IGN that players in certain U.S. regions can start playing as early as October 1.

It’s important to know that Ghost of Yotei will receive a substantial day-one patch, bringing numerous key enhancements. Sony shared the patch notes with IGN and confirmed that disc users will need to install the update. They also recommend players ensure their game is updated to Version 1.006 before starting.

Pre-load for Ghost of Yotei via the PlayStation Store began last week, with the full game requiring over 85GB of storage.

IGN’s Ghost of Yotei review scored the game 8/10, stating: “While the story follows a familiar structure, it guides you through breathtaking landscapes and smooth, satisfying combat. Ghost of Yotei may not reinvent the open-world genre, but it masterfully delivers the samurai experience.”
