Fortnite Hunters ramps up the action with a host of exciting updates! This season boasts a Battle Pass brimming with Japanese mythology-inspired skins, powerful weapons, and intriguing items. Among the most exciting additions are the Oni Masks, unique items granting mystical offensive or defensive abilities. These include the Fire Oni Mask and the Void Oni Mask, designed to give you a significant advantage in your quest for a Victory Royale.

Updated January 14, 2025, by Nathan Round: While obtaining Oni Masks often involves luck, there are now two guaranteed methods. This guide includes acquiring them from Daigo and another reliable location offering both masks for free.

All Oni Masks & How To Use Them

Void Oni Mask

The Void Oni Mask is a top choice, excelling as a mobility tool. Use the shoot button to throw a Void Tear, then aim to teleport to its location. The Epic variant has 15 uses with a 5-second cooldown; the Mythic version boasts 50 uses.

Fire Oni Mask

The Fire Oni Mask focuses on damage. Press the fire button to launch a guided flame projectile dealing 100 damage. Multiple enemies clustered together can be hit simultaneously. It has 8 uses (16 for the Mythic version) with an 8-second cooldown.

How To Get Oni Masks in Fortnite

Searching Elemental Chests

The most straightforward method is looting Elemental Chests. These guarantee an elemental item, including Oni Masks and Boons. Finding a specific mask is luck-based. Elemental Chests are scattered across the island, with named POIs offering the best odds.

Defeating Demon Warriors

Defeat Demon Warriors, marked by an Oni Mask icon on the map. They don't always drop a mask, but they can drop either a Void or Fire Oni Mask (depending on which they wield). They may also drop Typhoon Blades and Boons.

Searching Chests

Regular chests offer a chance (though luck-based) to find Epic rarity Void and Fire Oni Masks.

Purchase From Daigo

Unlike previous methods, purchasing from Daigo at Masked Meadows with Gold Bars guarantees both masks. Complete all stages of his Mask Expertise Quests to unlock this option.

Loot From Daigon's Hidden Workshop

Alternatively, skip the quests! Daigo's hidden workshop (below the building on Masked Meadows' north side) contains a machine with both masks. Loot it like a chest for a guaranteed reward.

Defeating Bosses (Mythic Oni Masks Only)

For Mythic Oni Masks, defeat Night Rose (Mythic Void Oni Mask) at Demon's Dojo or Shogun X (Mythic Fire Oni Mask) at Shogun's Arena. These function identically to their Epic counterparts but have more uses.
