In the vast world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, resources are plentiful, but some, like Sharp Fangs, prove more elusive. This guide details how to efficiently locate and farm these crucial crafting components.

Sharp Fangs are early-game crafting materials found in the Windward Plains. They're essential for crafting beginner-level gear like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. Access them early by undertaking optional quests such as "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests provide a convenient 50-minute time limit; consider boosting your hunting efficiency with a pre-hunt meal.

Once in the Windward Plains, head to Area 8—the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures can drop Sharp Fangs, focus on one in particular for guaranteed yields.

Gaijos: Your Primary Target

Gaijos are small leviathan-like creatures found near or in riverbeds, usually solitary. Their crocodile-like bodies and distinctive snouts make them easily identifiable. Use your map’s purple diamond markers near water sources to pinpoint their locations.

These relatively weak monsters are quickly dispatched. Carving their remains guarantees a single Sharp Fang per kill.

With four to five Gaijos typically spawning in Area 8, and the ability to easily re-enter via optional quests, farming Sharp Fangs from Gaijos is highly efficient.

Talioth: An Additional Source

Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), offer a chance for Sharp Fang drops, though not guaranteed. They're slightly tougher than Gaijos but still manageable with early-game weapons. Hunting Talioths also conveniently progresses the "The Desert is Demanding" optional quest.
