Says It "Could Be Interesting"

The success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has opened up new possibilities for developer Sandfall Interactive, including a potential release on the upcoming Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's future plans following their impressive launch.

Broche emphasized that the game's accomplishments have significantly altered their strategic outlook, stating, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."

When queried about a potential Switch 2 release, Broche indicated that the team is currently overwhelmed with opportunities and is still deciding their next steps. He noted, "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting."

With the anticipated launch of the Switch 2, it's fitting that this year's top-rated game might also be available on the latest handheld console. Fans will have to wait patiently to see if they can experience the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's new device.

No Official Merchandise…Yet!

Amidst the flood of requests and opportunities, Sandfall Interactive is also considering the release of official merchandise, particularly a plush of the beloved character, Esquie. However, they have yet to produce any official merchandise and have cautioned fans about counterfeit products circulating online. In a Twitter (X) post on May 14, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."

They further warned that many of these unauthorized items use AI-generated artwork, which Sandfall strongly advises against purchasing, as they could be scams. On a positive note, they are actively working on creating official Esquie plushies.

The post concludes with an optimistic update, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
