The night approaches as Bandai Namco and FromSoftware officially announce the global release schedule for Elden Ring Nightreign. Mark your calendars—the highly anticipated title drops on May 30, with its debut set for midnight EDT across PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Series X|S platforms. However, due to regional time differences, some areas will gain early access. For instance, players on the west coast in the Pacific Time Zone can dive into the game at 9 p.m. on May 29.

Platform availability varies as well. According to Bandai Namco's announcement, PC gamers will typically get the jump on consoles in most regions. On the U.S. East Coast, PC users can start their adventure at 6 p.m. on May 29, whereas console owners will need to wait until midnight.

Pre-loading is available 48 hours before launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. In an interview with IGN, Elden Ring Nightreign director Junya Ishizaki addressed the decision to emphasize solo and trio gameplay modes. When questioned about the lack of a duo option without matchmaking, Ishizaki admitted it was unintentionally overlooked.

"To be honest, this was simply something that slipped through the cracks during development," Ishizaki explained. "Our primary focus was designing a multiplayer cooperative experience tailored for three players. That said, we understand the desire for duo play and have made significant efforts to ensure solo experiences are enjoyable within the game’s mechanics. While we initially prioritized trios, we recognize the importance of supporting duo play post-launch."

In short, if you're teaming up with a duo partner, be prepared to welcome a third player into your group. You never know—you might encounter someone skilled enough to enhance your journey.
