The Elden Ring live-action movie is now confirmed to be in development, as announced jointly by Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24. The film will be directed by Alex Garland, known for his work on Ex Machina, Civil War, and Warfare, bringing his unique storytelling sensibilities to the project.

Produced by Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich of DNA Films, along with George R. R. Martin—creator of A Song of Ice and Fire—and Vince Gerardis, former co-executive producer of Game of Thrones, the film aims to capture the grandeur and intensity that define the Elden Ring universe. It remains unclear whether FromSoftware’s president and Elden Ring director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, will be involved in the film's production.

FromSoftware shows no signs of slowing down, especially in 2025, with two major releases planned:

1. Elden Ring Nightreign – A brand-new co-op action spinoff set in the realm of Limveld, where players assume the role of Nightfarers—warriors tasked with halting the rise of the Nightlord. While retaining core elements from the original game, Nightreign introduces gameplay mechanics tailored specifically for cooperative multiplayer experiences. Scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 30th, 2025.

2. Elden Ring Tarnished Edition – A definitive edition designed for Nintendo Switch 2, featuring the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, four exclusive armor sets, and enhanced customization options for all three variants of Torrent the Spectral Steed. Though not a launch title for the new console, it will arrive shortly after its release, giving fans another way to experience the full scope of Elden Ring.
