Dungeonborne Set to Close Down, Official Statement

Apr 07,25

The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, inspired by the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have officially announced the cessation of support and the impending closure of the game's servers. Despite an enthusiastic launch, the project, which lasted less than a year, struggled to maintain its player base due to dwindling activity and the absence of substantial updates.

While Dungeonborne's page on Steam remains accessible, it has been removed from the platform's search results and can now only be reached through a direct link. Although the official reasons for the shutdown remain undisclosed, it is evident that the game's critically low player numbers were a significant factor. Since late 2024, Dungeonborne saw a maximum of 200 concurrent players, with recent days showing a sharp decline to a mere 10-15 active users.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled to be permanently shut down on May 28, effectively concluding the game's brief journey. Initially capturing the interest of genre enthusiasts, Dungeonborne will now fade into obscurity, leaving behind unfulfilled potential and a reminder of the challenges faced by new entries in competitive gaming markets.
