Divinity: Original Sin 2 - How To Get The Ship Moving

Jan 24,25

This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.

Quick Links

After removing your Source collar, your goal is to get the Lady Vengeance underway. This isn't done through conventional means; you must discover a unique method. Explore the ship, interact with NPCs, and gather clues. The key is accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and using the Ancient Empire Songbook.

Investigate Dead Bodies

Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghosts on deck. A dead magister holds a Sodden Diary containing a password. You can also obtain the password by passing a skill check at the northern stateroom door. Besides the password, you'll need a Strange Gem to open the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror (south of the stateroom doors) allows respeccing characters, useful for skill checks.

Find the Portside Stateroom

Use the password from the diary (or skill check) to enter the ship's quarters. Examine the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find the Strange Gem. Use the gem and the password ("Fortitude") to unlock the southern stateroom door. This leads to Magister Dallis' cabin. The cabin also contains a hidden hatch with two ghosts and a Teleportation Prism.

Find the Songbook

In Dallis' cabin, speak with Tarquin and Dallis thoroughly before searching. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to talk to all NPCs before sailing, as interaction opportunities will be lost once underway.

Set Sail

Return to the deck and speak to Malady. Tell her you found the songbook. She'll ask you to sing. Find the dragon figurine to the west and sing the song. The Lady Vengeance will begin to move. Be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately afterward; ensure your party is well-equipped.
