What’s New in The Lost City of Un’Goro?

This expansion introduces 145 new collectible cards, an all-new keyword mechanic called Kindred, and the return of popular mechanics like Quests. Alongside these features comes a rich narrative following a daring new expedition into the ancient, long-lost city buried beneath the crater.

The story centers around Loh, a curious Tortollan explorer who leads a team into the depths of Un’Goro. He’s joined by familiar faces such as Elise Starseeker, who serves as the group's navigator, and Umbra, a former Tortollan leader turned guide. However, Loh remains unaware of Umbra’s hidden agenda, which gradually unravels throughout the expansion’s card reveals and lore drops.

Introducing the Kindred Keyword

One of the most anticipated additions in this expansion is the introduction of the Kindred keyword. This unique mechanic triggers a bonus effect if you played a card of the same minion type or spell school during your previous turn. Importantly, Kindred checks only the previous turn’s play—not actions taken during the current one—encouraging players to build synergistic sequences over multiple turns.

Quest Cards Return

Quests are back with a vengeance! Each class receives a brand-new 1-cost Legendary spell that starts in your opening hand. Complete the specified condition to unlock a powerful reward. These quests add strategic depth and open up new deck-building possibilities across multiple classes.
