The South Korean regulator GRAC has recently assigned a "19+" age rating to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, citing the inclusion of "excessive violence," "excessive profanity, profanity and swearing," and scenes depicting the use of various illegal substances.

Notable characters include Tarman, portrayed by George Miller, who captains the mobile base Magellan across tar lakes, and Dollman, a living doll and former medium played by Fatih Akin, who has lost his human form. The game also sees the return of Léa Seydoux as Fragile. Additionally, Elle Fanning joins the cast as Tomorrow, a mysterious character discovered in a location resembling the realm of the dead, echoing the original game's theme, "Tomorrow is in your hands."

One of the showcased cutscenes features characters singing the iconic song "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, while interacting with a pregnant woman named Rainy, played by Shiori Kutsuna.
