Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide

Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, experiencing a resurgence thanks to Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often confusing for players due to unclear objectives and the station's layout. This mission begins after the anomaly clears the nosalis horde in the preceding mission. Khan takes a railcar to the next station, and "Cursed" starts upon exiting. Follow Khan to the defenders at the barricaded escalators.

Locating the Bomb

The defenders explain that an explosives team went missing while attempting to collapse the tunnel, preventing further nosalis attacks. Your task: find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed (expect to do this at least once).

The bomb is at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows straight ahead; they inflict damage. Retrieve the bomb and either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if outnumbered.

Destroying the Tunnel

To detonate, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective) and wait for the cutscene. Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse; escape the blast zone immediately to avoid death.

Alternatively, a grenade/pipe bomb in the same area will also collapse the tunnel. Note: nosalises will still infiltrate through other routes, so remain vigilant.

Destroying the Airlock

Even with the tunnel destroyed, another task remains: collapsing the airlock. This is mentioned in the initial conversation. Find it by taking the right-hand stairs to the torchlit area (ignore the nosalises). Interact with the support columns to plant and detonate a pipe bomb. Escape immediately.

With both entrances destroyed, follow Khan to a shrine room, then descend through a floor panel, starting the "Armory" mission.
